Flygt has developed a station concept called TOP which is a way of designing small sewage pump stations (mostly dual) in order to achieve the best duty reliability, and the lowest investment and duty cost. The concept can be applied for both new stations as well as retrofit-stations.
The concept consists of a compact station with sloping walls in all directions. Optimised benching contributes to maximise the water velocity and also sump bottoms where no dead zones exist. By having the remaining volume minimised, a pump sump with excellent self-cleaning properties is achieved.
