Design

Motor
Squirrel cage, high-performance, induction motor, specially designed for submersible applications and manufactured by Flygt. Class H insulated stator windings rated at 180° C (350°F).

Monitoring equipment
All the pumps in this series have temperature sensors in their stator windings and main bearings. Should liquid penetrate a pump's stator housing, a float-switch sensor positioned below the bearings and the stator-end coils will shut the pump down.

Bearings
Designed with one roller bearing and two angular-contact ball bearings. The design prevents water from passing through the bearings in the event of leakage.

Oil housing
In addition to lubricating the seals, the oil-filled compartment dissipates heat from the motor and bearing. The housing also provides additional safety against penetration by liquids. Opening an inspection screw on the end of the side easily does oil check

Shaft design
The shaft overhang is kept to a minimum, prolonging the life of the seals, and reducing vibration and noise level.

Wet end design
Drive unit and wet end easily separated for fast access to wear parts with a pull-out function.

Seals
Two sets of mechanical shaft that work independently, for double safety. The mating rings are made from solid tungsten carbide for increased abrasion resistance. The seal system is designed, patented, and manufactured by ITT Water & Wastewater.

Protected spring system
A spring system, encased in its own oil bath, keeps the mating rings working closely togehter.

External flushing
For liquids with a very high and sticky solid content, external flushing is possible.
